Summary

The job holder is responsible for the timely preparation of the company’s financial statements, ensuring the statements reflect the organisation’s financial position and comply with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), statutory and other regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

·Preparation of monthly management account for management use.

·Preparation of quarterly interim consolidated financial statements

·Coordination of financial control team on daily review and reconciliation of general ledger accounts by:

1.Regularly reviewing entries into the General Ledger (GL) for completeness and accuracy.

Identifying transaction errors, wrong postings, and notifying the account owners for prompt corrections.

2.Performing all general ledger maintenance activities, including creation of General Ledger (GL) account period opening and closing.

3.Review data from the General Ledger (GL) as it relates to other account captions/transactions and identifying reconciling items.

Review of monthly account schedules from account custodians.

Monitor and review all transactions to ensure taxes are appropriately captured and treated.

Ensure all tax returns are filed promptly and accurately.

Liaising with the external auditors for half year and full year statutory audit.

Liasing with tax consultant for any tax enquiries

Assist the Financial Controller in the revision, development and implementation of finance policies and procedures.

Budget monitoring and detailed analysis of variance.

Proactively and efficiently execute work plans as approved by the Financial Controller

 Perform other duties as assigned by the Financial Controller.

Requirements

  • A Chartered Accountant with a first degree in any discipline.
  • Minimum of Five (5) years finance experience with at least two (2) years in a reputable accounting firm
  • Big four relevant experience will be an added advantage
  • Experience in the logistics industry will be an added advantage
  • Good understanding and application of International financial reporting standards
